Another Benefit of Commercial Window Film

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

The Commercial Window Film also reduces any glare you get from the sun shining on metal objects outside. Cars are one that will reflect the sun right into your eyes. This can be quite annoying to those who are trying to work. If it is not shining in your eyes from reflections outside it can also shine into your computer screen and make it very difficult to see the information on which you are working. There are many offices and businesses that have huge windows so this can be one of the places where the sun really beats through if the windows are just plain and don’t have Commercial Window Film. The customers that frequent your business will be pleased with the new look as well. This will allow them to come in, conduct their business in comfort and look forward to returning. They will see that you are a company that cares about the comfort zone of their employees as well as their customers. When choosing the Commercial Window Tinting Film you will use you will be pleased to see the many different types from which you may choose. Commercial Window Tinting

Can you imagine the work that goes into installing window tinting on skyscrapers? The tint on these large buildings either looks almost like a metallic silver or blue color. The sheer height one would have to be at to cover these windows almost takes your breath away. Although one does have to admit the reflective window tinting makes skyscrapers look spectacular. As these windows are typically not covered on the inside with drapes or blinds the tinting is certainly a relief for those who work in these buildings.

The manufacturer of our Window Tinting Film offers a 15 year warranty on their Commercial Window Tinting if it is professionally installed. This is a better than normal amount of time you will find for a guarantee because after this period of time, the films may not work anymore. The materials used to block the sun evaporate and when it does it goes through the glass. This is not visible to the naked eye but polarized sunglasses will show you the streaks of color on the window if you look. Window tinting is becoming the wave of the future for those who want to protect their homes, offices and belongings.

Consumers Save Up to 44 Per Cent in Energy Conservation Pilot (Marketwire)

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

MILTON, ONTARIO–(Marketwire - May 20, 2009) - Results from a recent energy conservation pilot program in Milton, Ontario show dramatic savings for some participants, including up to 44 per cent energy savings during peak demand periods. The residents are part of the Direct Energy Smart Home Energy Conservation Program and research project.

The pilot was conducted from July, 2007 to September 2008 with 209 Milton Hydro households. The goal of the pilot was to not only test technology, but also gain insights into consumer behaviours and motivations for change. Participants were able to monitor energy usage, and remotely control their home’s lighting and appliances with one easy-to-use web interface or a hand held device like a Blackberry. The portal and software, provided by Lixar SRS, provide the ability for two way communication with the thermostat in real time versus the alternative one way technologies. The program was developed in collaboration between Direct Energy, Milton Hydro, and Bell with independent analysis by the University of Waterloo.

Window film is like sun block for your rooms. (Rochester Democrat and Chronicle)

Sunday, May 17th, 2009

It’s the middle of May and I am soaking up the warm rays of afternoon sunlight that shine through my living room windows.

The view of my spring garden is just breathtaking, and I’m filled with ideas for planting annuals this year to make it even better.

Soon, though, it will be the end of June, and I’ll be drawing the drapes closed to block out the hot summer sun that keeps my air conditioner running full time.

I’ll have to go outside to view my summer garden.

With that in mind, I’m considering a fairly new trend in residential window treatments for my home.

You might have heard of tinted window film, which has been very popular for automobile glass and commercial buildings.

Why does Window Tinting work so well? The secret is the way it is made. There are different types so you will have to take this into consideration when you have it installed or purchase the window film for a do-it-yourself project. How do you know which one is the best? The only way you can choose the right one for your windows is to educate yourself on the different products and what they do. There are three main types of Window tinting.

Tinted Window Film actually has particles that block the sunlight from coming through the window. Tinting does three things. It can block visible light, ultraviolet rays and near-infrared rays. This entirely depends upon the type of tint you want to use in your home. Reflective tint is for those who want to save energy. They do not want their windows to look as if they were covered in aluminum foil. The third type is spectrally selective window film. This type keeps your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. This Window Tinting has a coating that contains certain materials that reflect some light and allow other light through.
