Energy prices including gas are on the rise again what we must do here in the United States is cut expenses to make every dollar go further. You do not need to worry about those hot summer days that are ahead and high costs to keep your home cooler when you have ceiling fans.

The first thing you must do if you already have ceiling fans in place is to check that they are Energy Star qualified. Ceiling fans having lights also that are Energy Star rated are more efficient than those that are not rated by about 50%.

(ARA) - Homeowners who are trying to go “Green” now have more to celebrate for more time thanks to the solar tax credit program by Congress.

The legislation has extended residential systems benefits under the old law for 8 years. What this means to the consumer is that they will be able to recoup 30% of the cost of solar thermal water heating up to $2,000.

Utilities’ energy plans to save customers’ money (Detroit Free Press)

The new energy-efficiency programs being adopted by Michigan utilities go against typical business philosophy, said John Russell, president and chief operating officer of Consumers Energy. “We always thought that what we made, we wanted to sell,” Russell said. “But now all of our customers have the power to save energy and money.”
