DALLAS—-Texas business owners can save 10 to 30 percent off of their electric bill thanks to new technology that lets them control their building’s temperature remotely through the Internet.
Efficient ways to save on your monthly energy bill were highlighted in a workshop in Wheatland on Wednesday, Feb. 24. Juliet Daniels of the Cooperative Extension Service discussed both no-cost and low-cost ways to save on energy bills.
A Senate committee will hold a special meeting Wednesday to hear from the public about low-cost ways to save energy and money.
“Simple techniques can pay big dividends when it comes to energy efficiency,” said Sen. Lesil McGuire, R-Anchorage, who co-chairs the Resources Committee.
The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Capitol’s Butrovich Room. People can testify in person at Room 205 or by teleconference. They also may watch the proceedings on Gavel-to-Gavel.

NIAGARA, Wis. - Officials representing We Energies offered energy-saving advice to more than 50 people at a seminar at the Niagara Senior Center Wednesday. Jesse Daso and Kenny DeBauche of We Energies gave the PowerPoint presentation. “We’re here to help you save money. If you save energy, you will save money,” said DeBauche, an energy adviser.

DTE Energy is showing homeowners how to make their homes more energy efficient. The company has a new feature on its Web site that will show homeowners how to use less energy in virtually every room of the house.
