I work at Wheels America in Arlington Heights, IL and the correct name for the wheel finish your looking for is simply red chrome. It is a chrome wheel that is clear coated in a red tinted powdercoat. Be warned. Paint and powder coat do not adhere to chrome very well…If you’re not a wealthy person I don’t reccommend doing this as maintenance and upkeep of these wheels will continue to cost you big bucks for the entire length of time that you own them. For example…My cost to rechrome a wheel is $285 per rim, and to candy coat on top of that is an additional $80. No that’s just my cost. Retail $550. Good luck!

I have a 1991 240 SX SE with 245K miles on it.. It looks and runs great! I get comments often about how great the interior and body looks given it’s age…

But I’m noticing that I need to add about 1/2 quart of oil to it about once a month..There is no indication of leaks under the car . The longer I idle, the larger the ploom of smoke… The smoke has a mild bluish tint to it, but is mostly white ..

Unless your engine burns more than one quart of oil every 1,000 miles, new car manufacturers state that your engine is orperating normally. A bluish smoke on cold start up in the morning or on heavy acceleration (in your rear view mirror), indicates leaking valve seals which is quite common and acceptable on many older vehicles, especially if your getting more than 1,000 miles per quart of oil.

How is my story????????

Alone

20 years ago, there was a war. You can call it World War 3, but it was much more than that. It was almost the end of man kind. There was bombing everywhere, every country, city, state, island. No one was safe. The bombs were made with a special chemical to wipe out building and set fire to everything. They worked but in a bad way.
The chemical didn’t affect men, for some reason, just women. Women would disappear just like that. Nothing of them remained, of course. My mother survived. She and dad stayed in hiding from then on .
6 years after the war, I was born. The only girl in the world, the only child. 4 days after birth, my mother was murdered.
Know one knows why, no one even knew of me. The man was executed right there on the spot, by a police officer who was near the house and heard the scream. He attempted wiping out man kind.

By the age of six, my father let me outside. It was strange seeing the bright sun, and the blue skies. The grass tickled my bare feet. People were staring at me, I wondered why they were all men. My father who was close by. Was on the phone, he said his good-byes. He took my hand and handed my an old pair of sandals.
He knelt down, his kind eyes looked down. He spoke softly, “Sweetie, I need you to be strong. Your going somewhere for a while.” His hand stroked my cheek.
As he kissed my forehead I whispered, “Daddy don’t go,”
He smiled, and pointed to the car. “Let’s go.”

The car was brown with rust, and tinted windows. I have never rode in a car , it was fascinating. I couldn’t take my eyes off of the window. It was see through, Never before have I seen a window.
We pulled up to a white building, I silently got out of the old car . I took my fathers hand and we walked. As we came into the building, there were big, burly men, Wearing black. They had weapons with them. I stared in wonder. Finally out of the house.

I’ve been locked up my whole life, with plenty of food and toys. Even a TV. My dad spoiled me but I resisted acting it.

The man said ‘all clear’ in a deep voice. Another man, scrawny. Came up to us and informed us he will show us the way.
We walked down a long hall, red velvet carpet, white walls. It looked like something from a fairy tale.
Finally we arrived to a door at the end of the hall, the scrawny man opened the door and plainly said “they have arrived,”

There was a desk, two red, white, and blue flags. A brown chair, that spun around. The man sitting in the chair was a plain looking male. He had black short hair, tan skin, and a sturdy body type.
He smiled, “Ah, you must be Iris Shepherd.”
I stared at him, with a puzzled look on my face.
He laughed, “Welcome, I’m President Cray”

Ch.1

I stared out the window. I have my own house, Personal bodyguards, and a boyfriend I never wanted. I’m 14, I can’t do anything by myself, I’m just lucky I get privacy in the bathroom. All because of what? I’m the last women alive, and what does that mean? I have to be protected from all harms, even if it means someone has to cut my food for me.

I turned to my bodyguard at the door, “Just one minute alone in here?” I pleaded.
He shook his head, “Sorry Iris, orders are orders,”
I slumped on the bed, I mumbled “just one minute alone, it’s creepy having everyone watch me,” I turned to him, “Why can’t people just do a sex change or something?”
He looked surprised, “Because, we need a female body to do that, and using you would kill you, and highly wouldn’t work, we have to do things differently now since the war. What is your tutor teaching you? Shall I inform Mr. Cray he isn’t doing his job correctly?”
I raised my hand, “No, no, it’s fine he’s doing an excellent job.”
“Whatever you say Iris.”

I reflected on things I know. My life is boring, I’m being overprotected, and I am banned from seeing my dad. Yep, my life is glamorous. I thought sarcastically.

The secretaries assistant burst through the door just now, he had sweat pouring down his forehead, a frantic look on his face. He spook in a wild voice, “Intruders, get her to the safe house.”

Yes, yes, i know, grammer blah blah blah, coma splice blah blah blah, take classes blah blah blah, write fancic blah blah blah. Remember I’m 13, not that old, just expressing my imagination. Still taking everything in about grammer and spelling. Please don’t be austere towards me. I’m still working on grammar and stuff.

Why am i having problems in my right eye?

Some basic info:
- I am 15 years old, and a girl
- I usually have my hair covering my right eye (I have darkish hair [ginger with black bangs], if it has any relevence)
- I have blondish eyelashes and eyebrows, which dont block out the sun as well as darker ones.
- My eyes are blue (I heard lighter eyes are more prone to damage)

New things since this started:
- I started track for my school, two hours of strict exercise monday-friday.
- I got an ipod touch, and i use it a lot
- We got a new house, which is really dusty (I highly doubt that’s helpful, but ill throw it out just in case)
- On the second day of this, i was getting into the car , and i couldnt see the door, and the corner stabbed my bad eye. No blood, or headaches, just hurt for a few minutes and i woke up with a bruize

The Problem:
For the past four-six days, my right eyes vision has rapidly been getting worse. I have a large blindspot that changes from white to black, depending what my eye wants to block out (It blurrs the whiteboard at school out with a white blindspot, it will blur out stars with a black blindspot). Other than the blindspot, everything is blurry, and has a pinkish brownish tint. Ironically, a week before this started, i got a physical, my good eye is 20/20 and the other one was 20/25 (Which wasnt bothering me at that point).

My dad and biology teacher both checked my eye with a flashlight, it looks the exact same, and my eyes dialate the same.

My dad thinks its from staring at my ipod (Im not sure about that, cuz i used my DS the same way and as often, before i got the ipod touch.) Ive done some research, and it kinda seems like a burn in my retina (Solar Retinopathy) but i dont stare at the sun, i dont do drugs that make me wanna stare at the sun, or anything like that. My biology teacher (he is also my track coach) thinks its a retinal tear, but that primarily occurs in age 60+.

If i cover my bad eye, i see fine, but i dont want to get a lazy eye, and it gives me a small headache. If i cover my good eye, i can barely see anything, and if i use them both, the contrast of vision makes me slightly dizzy and i cant focus.

I want some opinions before i go to the doctor, cuz i dont wanna pay hundreds of dollars for something that can possibly be fixed with a home remedy.

BTW, sorry for any typos, im kinda in a rush

You portray yourself as intelligent for a 15 year old so it should go without saying that you just need to go to an optometrist and have your eyes checked by a professional who knows what to look for. Large spots can be indicative of many serious eyes issues. Your eye sight is not something you should screw around with. And your symptoms would seem to indicate something more than can be fixed with a home remedy.

I am being wrongfully accused of a hit in run. Please read the details of the incident below. Thanks.?

My actual questions are listed at the bottom of this description. This incident occurred in the state of California.

I was parked in my car (Ford Escort) on the right side of the street behind a Black Jaguar. When I decided to leave the parking spot, I assessed the situation and determined that there was enough room to cut my wheel all the way to the left and simply drive forward out of the space. There was only a single turn made (no backing up, etc.) and the turn was made at an extremely slow speed (1 mph). I was fully focused when pulling out of the spot and did not see, hear, or feel any type of contact with the car in front of me. As far as I was concerned, it was like the 100,000 other times I had pulled out of a parking spot on the street. Immediately upon leaving the spot, a man jumped out of the driver’s seat of the black Jaguar in front of me and started walking towards the back of his car . He did not wave at me to stop or attempt to flag me down in any way. I was interested in what he was doing so as I drove down the street I kept an eye on him in my rearview mirror.

I saw that he was taking photographs of my car and he then began to follow me. I was afraid to stop and have a conversation with the man because a) I was sure I didn’t make contact with his car and so there was no reason to have a conversion b) I was in a dicey neighberhood c) He was a large man with a very intimidating car (tinted out, black Jag) d) I couldn’t tell how many individuals were in his car because of all the tint. He continued to follow me as I drove around the streets taking various turns trying to lose him. He had multiple opportunities to read my license plate and I saw him repeatedly taking photographs of my car. He didn’t honk of flag me down, but continued to follow me / ride extremely closely behind my car. I assumed that he would just call the cops with my license plate number, inform them that he thought there was an accident. I was planning on calling the cops once I had lost his car and felt safe to do so. Eventually, I got on the freeway in an attempt to lose the car in traffic. After losing him on the freeway, I took a two-lane exit off the freeway, but was cut off by another driver switching lanes and my car was run off the road.

I won’t get into the details of the “2nd accident,” but long story short the California Highway Patrol showed up and said that they had received a call from the driver of the black Jaguar accusing me of a hit and run. I informed that I had no reason to believe my car had physically made contact with his car . The officer took my side of the story, and then went off to locate/talk to the owner of the Jaguar. I was unable to provide my insurance information at the time to the officer (didn’t have info in the car , my parents are the primary holders of the insurance, couldn’t contact them). I talked to the officer about 20 minutes later as I was waiting for my car to be towed. In my frantic state, I forgot to ask him about his evaluation of the Jaguar / whether he saw any evidence of a hit and run / whether I was being charged with anything, etc. He made no mention of anything involving the “hit and run” to me. I assumed at the time that he had looked at the Jaguar, found that there was no damage, and was not filing a report on the hit and run.

About 4 hours later, I got a call from the local police asking me about the “hit and run”. The officer on the phone tried various intimidation techniques to try and get me to admit to a hit and run, threatened me, etc. I told her that to the best of my knowledge my car made no physical contact with his car. She claimed that the California Highway Patrol Officer reported to her that there was “paint evidence” indicated that my car had made contact with his. I did not get a chance to look at his car but I find it INCREDIBLY unlikely that any paint was transferred from my car to his car. I think there is a strong possibility that she made this statement in an attempt to bait me into a confession. As I mentioned earlier, my car had gone through a major accident shortly after the “hit and run”, and sustained major scratching, paint chipping to the bumper during the accident. There were no signs of any black paint on my bumper when I looked at it. The officer informed me that according to California law that if you are not able to provide your insurance information at the scene of the accident that you are considered an uninsured driver. She said she would call the other driver, tell him I had insurance, and was willing to attempt to work something out without the courts getting involved if I could provide my insurance information in the next 5 minutes. I was unable to do so (still unable to contact my parents), but she said if I e-mailed her my insurance information the following morning (when I was able to get my policy #) that she would “consider including it in the report to the DA’s office”. I e-mailed the insurance info to her t
he next morning. This was three days ago, and I haven’t heard anything back regarding this legal matter. It sounds like this is going to court and I need to hire a criminal defense lawyer. Questions:

1)What should I do besides hire a criminal defense lawyer? Take photographs of my car ? Attempt to find the other car and take photographs? Is there any chance of resolving this with the other driver? Would that require admitting to a hit and run that I don’t think occurred?

2)If I go to court, it seems as though if the only damage is a scratch to the Jaguar, they will have a very difficult time proving that I was guilty of a hit and run. Given the minor nature of the accident (if it actually occurred) it seems extremely plausible that I did not know the accident existed and my reasons for not stopping to get out and discuss with the Jaguar owner seem very reasonable. How do you think this would hold up in court?

mariok answers:

I agree that you should get a lawyer involved in this. Is it possible there was a camera near where your cars where parked that may have recorded what actually happened? Near a bank or hwy camera, something to provide evidence that is more than “he said, she said.” I witnessed a man get hit by a car 2 weeks ago and I saw 3 cameras that would have recorded the incident… I hope all works out well for you.

I’m going to go to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. I currently live in CT. I will be renting a house with a roommate. I have 20% all around, and the cops in CT don’t seem to care. If i go to Ohio, will i get pulled over for tints alone with CT plates? How bout Ohio plates?
Out of state plates will draw police attention, however, as long as your registration, insurance, and drivers license is legal, you wont have a problem. If you’re going to be relocating to a new state, I would recommend getting new plates on your car as soon as you can.

If the tint laws are different in OH than in CT, you might find yourself getting pulled over often for that. Check out the Ohio DMV website.

While it is unethical to “spray and pray” with a credit application it is not against the law anywhere that I know of! The only way to protect yourself from that kind of crap is to make sure that when you do talk to a car salesman you dont feel like you are talking to a jerk or a high pressure artist. If you dont feel perfectly at ease with them go to the lot next door or the next street over!! They all have cars for sale.

Insurance wont take full blame?

I was hit in a parking lot. There was an empty stall. There were cars parked on each of the stalls next to it. On the lsft side was an SUV with tinted windows. IT was parked very close to the line. i noticed this and took care going in very carefully giving myself about 2 feet of space. A little bit more half way in the suv started to back out. Instead of backing straight out, he backed out int a left turn coming into my stall. I saw this and stopped my car and honked my horn (first short honks then long continuous for about 3-4 seconds). He kept coming coming and hit me with his front right wheel. I took a picture clearly showing the positions of both cars and sent to the insurance company. This is the other insurance’s position. The admit their driver did not see me so he hit me. But the claim that I am 20% responsible because I came into s stall when the other car was moving out. I’m like what? Total BS. He didn’t see me so he hit me but he saw that I was coming in as he was backing out? How is that he admits to not seeing me and turned 2 feet into my stall and in the same breath claim that he was already moving when I came into the stall? My wife and baby was with me. My wife saw the whole thing. I will obviously fight this but would appreciate any advice from someone with similar experience.

what is the difference between 35W HID headlights and 55W HID headlights? (HID experts only please)?

That’s sort of not my question. its more like, with stock halogen housing, I am currently running 35W 8,000K HID bulbs for the headlights and yellow halogen bulbs for the fog lights. They are great, but lately, I’ve been thinking of doing a headlight/fog light HID set-up, and i’m doing a little looking around. Would my stock housing require any modification, to move up to 55W HID’s? And if I bought an after market housing off the internet, that was set-up with projectors, would that be a better way to hook up the 55W bulbs?

In addition, AACstyle.com makes 20 ,000k 35W HID bulbs, that are very similar looking to anywhere else having 10,000k 35W HID bulbs. The rule of thumb I’ve always heard is: the lower the Kevlin, the more bright the bulbs will be and the more the road will reflect and the highest number would pretty much give you visibility to about a foot in front of your bumper, and that’s it. Am I correct? and if so, why would anyone pick 20 ,000K over 10,000K? I’m really going for the black and blue (black interior, tinted windows and all that, blue gauges, Alpine receiver and so on ) look with my current car , and the fog lights, for me, are more for other drivers to see me during heavy rain or serving the purpose of daytime running lights. But I would also consider actually buying LED DRL’s to serve their actual purpose, and hook my fog lights up with HID bulbs.

Just so you’re all clear, I’m getting the HID kit through my brother who’s a high-end vehicle mechanic. Otherwise this would be costing stupid amounts of money.
35w HID’s are awesome, so i’m sure 55w kits are even more awesome. but frying my stock headlights, or messing up some wiring and having to pay out the ass with a bunch of other things doesn’t sound awesome at all.

BTW, I drive a 1999 Toyota Altezza, here in Japan. its the equivalent of a 2001 Lexus IS300, so you know parts aren’t cheap if i mess some things up.

mariok answers:

Its kinda weird, so ima break it down and explain whats going on and why one is brighter, but the 55 watt kits actually suck and you shoudlnt buy them.

The wattage of the HID kits is the wattage passing through the xenon filled vessel of the bulb when the bulb is fully warmed up. Things like the color temp, and the length of the arc will effect how bright the bulb is. So how long is the arc?

Well in a brand ne bulb, the arc is short, and the bulb is very bright, but over time, the two electrodes on each end of the bulb erode and get shorter making the space in btween larger, and the arc gets longer.

So to recap all that
***As the arc gets longer, the light output diminishes.***

Now we will talk about the service life of the bulb and why it fails….

***As the arc gets longer the voltage needed to maintain the arc gets higher***
Every ballast has a maximum output voltage capability for operating the bulbs and eventually the voltage required to maintain the arc is close to the maximum of what the ballast can put out, and it will then struggle to keep the bulb lit, or fail to ignite it altogether. (better hids kits come with better ballast that can operate bulbs longer, but try to explain this to your average HID purchasing consumer, and you have lived a day in the life of somebody who sells HID kits)

Obviously bulb useage erodes the bulbs electrodes over time, but now we are comparing a bulb with 35 watts going through it, and a bulb with 55 watts going through it.

A 35 watt bulb may see a service life of 3500-5000 hours depending on the ballast while a 55 watt bulb may only see a service life of 1000 hours, this is one difference, if you buy a 55 watt kits you will need to change the bulbs eventually where a 35 watt kit may or may not last longer than you own the vehicle but usually it will last longer.

But youv also got the fact that the electrodes in the 55 watt kit are eroding faster over time than the 35 watt bulb, and all the while the light output is diminishing since the temp of the arc is decreasing, this all happens at an inversly exponetial rate for the 55 watt bulb.

With all that you should be able to figure that a 55watt bulb will be about 20% brighter than a 35 watt bulb, but after a few hundred hours of burn time they will be the same, except the 55 watt bulb will be toast shortly while the 35 watt kit will put out the same light at the 55 watt kit was shortly before it failed (and was for ~80% of its service life) but continue to function for another 3-4000 hours of burn time.

…Then i read the main portion of your question…
generally speaking, the higher you go in the color temp, the more UV light the bulb makes which you dont see, it caps at about 25% loss compared to 4300k which is peak efficiency of visible light. The difference between there is maybe a 5% loss in light from a 10k to a 20k, but the 20k will be insanely blue. Personally, I dont liek insane blue on ANY CAR, but I think pink hids on a black car is pretty sick, or i woudl just get 6 or 8k for a black car. It could also be the fact that maybe 40% of my orders are for “the darkest blue I have” is maybe why i hate it so much.

Goign back to your question, it shouldnt matter, fog lamp kits plug into each side and pull form each harness, the kit will pull less current than your original bulb pulled, you dont need a relay ***UNLESS***after you install the kit you find that sometimes one side wont turn on, and you have to turn it off then back on again to get it to work. This is because the car is 10 years old and the grounds all over hte car need to be cleaned so you can either clean all the grounds or put the kit onto a relay.

Id rather not ship to japan, but if your ever here in the US and you need some good HIDs, now you know where to go.

The object of lights on a vehicle is to see and be seen. Any attempt to conceal this feature is just asking for someone to hit your car because they cannot easily see you.

As you said “any light could barely make it through” If you cannot see it at a couple of feet, it would be hard to see it at a few yards nay impossible to see at a couple of car lengths.

Ambulances are only a phone call away.

I have a silver 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and I am going to tint either my front side windows or my tail lights.

I am considering tinting my front side windows to about 15/ 20 % to match the factory tints on the back windows.
or….
I can tint my tail lights . I would probably leave my reverse lights clear to match my silver car and maybe even the 3rd brake light above the back window to help prevent getting rear ended

I understand both options are illegal, but i’m not asking if its right or wrong, I’m just looking for some personal opinions as to which option i should go with.

Please leave your opinion as to what i should do. And thanks for your time.

I have always thought cars look kind of wierd with no tint in the front and tint on the other windows…thats just me…and i dunno if you were planning on getting the front lights tinted as well but in my opinion i think it looks better if all the lights are tinted..not just the break lights. I know some company out there sells plastic snap on light covers that are real easy to take on and off so you cna see at night better. I think the most expensive pair of tail light covers were like 45 bucks plus s/h so your probably lookin at around 100 bucks for all the lights…which leaves money left over for the front two windows to be tinted. Hope this helped a bit!

Two Bala Sharks nudging/scratching/rubbing against each other after eating.?

I am concerned because after eating their normal frozen blood~worms/brine~shrimp meal with the florescent light on , two of my Bala Sharks started to nudge/rub/scratch the scales against each other. This was the first time I have seen them do this.

These Balas are about 4-5 inches long with a huge appetite so I feed them a lot. They have a few scales missing and I started to notice a faint reddish-brown tint on their tails. I thought that was due to them chasing each other around out of control and colliding into a big boulder/rock ornament that provides shelter for other fish. No other fish has scales missing, only these two.

Also, all my other fish (Bala Sharks, Roseline Sharks & 1 Rainbow Shark) seem healthy. I have a huge tank with 2 filters, 4 live plants, & a 24-Watt UV Sterilizer with a sponge filter in the tank. I think the nitrates levels were high so I did a 20 % water change and added:

*API – Stress Coat protector with Aloe Vera
*Gordon AmQuel – Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia remover

However, I’d like to know the root of the problem…Is this behavior dancing, disease, mating, sickness, stress or establishing fish authority?

Please provide professional advice or your own similar experiences if you had this occurrence. Thank you for your time.

Darrick
Upon further review of websites &research, I think they were mating. Also, 1 of the sharks was nipping @ the mid-section of the fish before they displayed courtship (Probably an instinct 2 display dominance 2wards other fish). Further, I ‘m pretty sure I have a female as her belly is much more oval in shape than the other 2. I have yet 2 see eggs though. (Just want to make sure they are okay)

The reddish-brown tint on the tails seem 2 be a result of unclean water as I had not done a water change 4 over a week & 1/2 & the 2nd smaller filter was filthy.

http://www.helium.com/items/1216796-breeding-the-bala-shark

Breeding Process: Breeding Dance

While there is no scientific proof that this dance is actually a type of “courtship” it is a very interesting sight to observe. The male and female will rub alongside one another for a brief period of time usually less than a minute. Many Bala shark breeders have reported seeing the eggs within a few days after observing this practice.

Long tailed lizard care? (fixed some stuff)?

Like i said before i got two long tailed (grass) lizards at the pet store today and the lady really wasn’t helpful because she wanted me to buy the $60 geckos instead. For the lizards i have : a 10 gallon aquarium (It is what i have at home, when they have another $1 per gallon sale i am going to get a 20 gallon tall) with aspen chip bedding, a cool whip hide, an over turned flower pot hide and a piece of bark to climb on and hide under. I took a fake hanging plant from a basket and cut off the vines with leaves and put them in the tank to climb on and hide, I also have a thick branch to climb if they wish. There is a small bowl (peanut butter lid) with water in it, and a smaller one with a few meal worms in it. I also have a critter keeper with 50 tiny (like 1/4in maybe?) crickets in it. (I gave the crickets fish flakes, cotton balls with water in them and carrot pieces and got rid of the dead one.) There is also an under tank heater and a thermometer.
I am going to get a desk lamp and a normal light bulb to put over the place with the heat pad for additional heat. I am also going to get a spray bottle tomorrow and mist the cage once a day.
I read somewhere that florescent bulbs give off UVB light and they would work. We use a lot of florensent bulbs at home, so could i just put one of those in the lamp?
And how many crickets should they get a day. I would say one is an adult and the other is younger. They are both about a foot long but the red (brown w/ a red tint vs tan w/ a yellow and green tint ) one has a smaller in width body. its body id the same length though.
Also any way to tell their sex?

Not that I think you care too much, but I would check on the legality of tinting a front windshield before I did it. It seems pretty dangerous. It would be kind of like driving your car at night with sunglasses on…not a great idea. 50% isn’t much, but it might be the difference in seeing somebody cross the street in front of you at night and really hurting, or possibly killing someone. Not trying to be Debbie Downer, but it could make a difference.

Is this a good deal for an Audi TT?

I’ve owned an audi since I first started driving but my car is about to kick the bucket so I want to get a new one. I found an ad for a 2001 Audi TT with 118k miles on it and its a 5 speed. it has 180 hp and from what it looks like there is no cosmetic damage and no real visible wear. Here is the rest of the ad

“The engine runs flawlessly. The timing belt and waterpump as well as Haldex service have been done within the last 20k miles. The car has a couple mods which include: GIAC 93 Octane Tune, 225 Dual Exhaust + Valance, VDO 52mm Boost Gauge, Forge Diverter Valve, Professionally painted black roof, Hankook tires, Xenon Lights, 20 % tints. This TT has only been serviced by a certified Audi dealership with full service records. Car runs amazing.”

What do you think? He is asking $7500
To FURTHER extend my details. I am not worried about maintenance costs… I have a 98 A4 Quattro right now with more than a quarter of a million miles on it… Plus my friend is an audi mechanic so I’m not putting costs ASIDe i’m just not worrying about them… As I said before, I have been driving an audi since I got my license 5 years ago.

mariok answers:

Whoa!..

Don’t listen to the pure haters of Audi who obviously don‘t have a clue as to what they are talking about! Thanks to my parents, I (too) have been driving either an Audi, MB or BMW since I was 16 years old…

To me, anybody who is looking to purchase an Audi has some sense that maintenance costs are going to be higher than American domestic automobiles…

At 16, my sister and I drove my mom’s A8 to school everyday. My mom’s car was immaculate and although we thought mom’s car was alright, we wanted our own. My mom (only) serviced her auto at the dealership, as per the Audi maintenance schedule. When my mom traded in her Audi 2 years ago, the sales manager told her that he was stunned at how well she took care of it and that he remembered the day he sold it to her.

My point is that if you take care of something and properly maintain it, you’d be surprised at how long something can last. It sounds like the 2001 Audi TT you are looking at is an excellent deal, especially if they have the maintenance records to boot!.. That year was a beautiful model!..

I presently drive an 2008 Audi A4/B7 2.0T with a Stasis mod and love it. I am a firm believer in paying for proper maintenance. Sadly, many of the negative people I encounter about Audi have never really owned one or have owned one and not properly maintained it because they were trying to get by on the cheap. These are the same individuals who wonder why they developed problems when they used cheap parts, lubricants, fuels, tires and missed service intervals!..

Audi automobiles are not for everyone. The way I was raised to view the purpose of a vehicle, it would be hard to purchase a vehicle simply because it’s less expensive and had cheaper maintenance. Safety, design and workmanship are paramount to me.

Good luck on your decision!..

*,..,*

P.S. As far as value, take a look at what the Yahoo Autos website has on the 2001 Audi TT… In addition to maintenance records, you say it looks like there is no cosmetic damage/physical wear…as I mentioned, excellent deal!..

been in the tuner scene for a little and already hate it. I use to own a corolla, cobalt ss, and currently a 02 civic ex sedan. ALL 3 CARS WERE UNRICED/UNMOLESTED. I have about 20 ,000 to play with. I really like the new Camaros and Mustangs.

mariok answers:

The Mustangs are indeed very nice cars, especially the newest model, although I’m not a fan of them cosmetically.

1. Mustang gets my vote. Although they’re not the fastest car on the road, they are a perfect mix between classic muscle and a daily driver.

2. I believe the Camaros are the most “capable” in a brute speed aspect. The newest model Mustangs are right up there with them though.

3. Major repairs are never cheap. With all of the new technology going into cars nowadays, there’s more that can go wrong, and generally, more expensive parts to fix these issues. If you properly take care of the car, you shouldn’t run into many serious problems.

4. Again, if you properly maintain the car, you shouldn’t have much of an issue.

5. It depends on the year and model. Newer cars are obviously more money, then you have different features and what not to consider. Normally, Mustangs can be found for cheaper prices over all.

6. I wouldn’t think there would be much of a difference between the two. Both are actually pretty good on gas mileage if you take it easy on the gas pedal. Just cruising will give good gas mileage on both.

7. I’ve never drove a Camaro, so I can’t help with that one. I can say Mustangs are a blast to drive though. The newest ones are pretty big and bulky, but they are still a lot of fun.

8. I’d say they are both about the same. Different tires, exhausts, etc will play a big part in this, not the car itself.

Again, gas mileage in these 8 cylinder cars really isn’t as bad as one would think. It’s when you’re constantly on the gas that will kill the mileage. Have a look at the specs for both cars, and you will probably be surprised. If you’re truly wanting a 6 cylinder, go with the new Mustang if you can afford it. They’re no V8, but they have A LOT of power for a 6 cylinder. I’ve seen them beat a lot of 8 cylinder cars on the road.

I have a question about car tints can anyone please help me?

I recently got 35% on my mazda 6, it has a grey interior. It looked fine at first inside the shop but when i took it outside and out on the road it’s not as dark as i had hope. Im thinking about moving down to 20%. Would it be better to remove the 35% and put on 20% or just add another layer of 35% or 50%. Im just trying to get it closer to 20%. It can be expensive to have it remove and to put a new 20% on ..which is why im wondering… pleasee any info would help!
i know its illegal and all that. i get it obviously. and if u dont know then saying dont know wont help.

Anything below 30% is not good, because then you run the risk of being ticketed for having the windows too dark and not letting enough light in

We’d go with a 15% or 20% all around because of the night visibility (practically none, on a 5%!)
