Don’t know too much about window tints. I plan to get my lancer gts 2008 tinted before it get too hot. I know of a couple of brands Huper Optik Ceramic, Solargard Ultra Performance,Llumar……. 30% front, 20% back 15% rear is what i want. Im searching for the best quality film. Been google around and still dont have enough info.Pleas help!!
mariok answers:
3M is not a good car tint. Poor heat rejection higher priced check Llumar at http://llumar.com and Solar gard at http://solargard.com they make their own films and lead the auto tint industry. Huper Optik is great but requires additional installation time and cost.

Joseph asks…
is johnson films a good car window tint film?
I’m trying to have my car windows tinted at the legal amount allowable for my state. 35% dark tint is the legal amount. The guy that will tint my window is asking for $100. He will be using a brand called Johnson. Is this any good?
mariok answers:
Johnson is fine but LLumar and Solar Gard are better quality films see http://www.llumar.com or http://www.solargard.com these films are warranted for a lifetime and are the leaders in car tinting. 3M is just a name and hardly makes any of their own film. That’s why they only have a handful of car tinters.

I’m shooting a car seen in about a week with a dvx100b. When i shoot at the window, there is an awful glare that I don’t want. How can I get rid of that?
My setup is a dvx100b with a tiffen uv filter and a tiffen linear polarizer. The camera is mounted on the hood pointing at the passengers.

Try shooting during times when the sun is at it’s lowest. You can even try at another angle.
