Texas window tint laws?

I’m going to tint my 97 Jetta and I live in Texas. Could someone tell me how dark I can legally tint them?

Their is the link to the tint codes but i really couldnt understand it.well i understand that the darkes you can put on the 2 wndows( driver, passanger) is 25%, and that the back (rear ,big ) window can be any % darkness right? what about the back row , like in a 4 door car the back last 2 windows can those be any % too or what? please help me ASAP

Window Tint Legalization sticker in Texas?

I took my car to an actual shop to have the windows tinted, not knowing I was supposed to have a “legalization” sticker placed between the tint and window per Texas law. Several months later I was pulled over and issued a verbal warning for not having the sticker. The shop should have put this sticker on there, I realize now, but did not (shows how professional they are), and now I don’t know what to do about getting this sticker. I could go back and argue the point with the shop & threaten to turn them in for noncompliance, but they may or may not do anything about it, and I don’t have a receipt from having it done. So how do I get this sticker? Do I have to go to ANOTHER shop & pay more money to have it done right? Secondly, what about people that do their own window tinting, how do they get the “legalization” sticker if it was done in their own driveway and not even at a shop? Any info is greatly appreciated and I know now to never take my vehicle to a less than reputable shop, which apparently this one is not. If I had known about the tint law, my vehicle would not have left their shop without it, and if they didn’t put one one there, I would not have paid or had it done in the first place. Thanks.

I want to know what the maximum of everything I can get is.

Someone told me I can do two layers of something lighter to bypass the law or something but that sounds hard.

What % paper is the darkest I can buy without breaking the law, and for what windows?

Is 1% darker than 30%? Or is 30% darker than 1%? I don’t understand still.

I’m wanting to get some tinting on the windows of my new car. From the factory, the windows are 5%. Considering the blazing sun in Texas, I’m wanting more than 5% to keep my car cool. Texas State Inspection Laws regarding side window tinting?

I bought a used 04 Ford Expedition on 07/10, I just took my vehicle in for it’s inspection and was told that my windows failed (15% and 17% I was told by two different places) and I have to have it removed. On the corners it’s listed Carlite solar tint tempered AS2 DOT-15 M175 3M, I guess my question(s) is,first of all is this removable, why did it pass last year before the dealer sold it to me and not this year since the law was changed in 09/09. To my knowledge it’s factory tint but I’m not sure for I haven’t had much luck figuring out how to read those numbers.

I’m wanting to buy a 2002-2004 acura rsx with the k20 motors and increase its performance, modifying the engines and such, but I want to know what are the legal ways to increase it’s performance and I want modify the body parts with a body kit. Also I want to tint the windows, but I heard if the window is too dark its illegal. I just want to increase the performance and looks of my cars legally, so what are the car modification laws in texas?
